With reimagined geometric shapes to replace the details on the surface of the face, the woman harmonizes into the background.

I used more refined mark making to create disguised transitions in the face, which creates the illusion of realism. Then slowly into the background more formal elements remain, where paint exists as paint and brush strokes are seen.
