This is a drawing of one of my former students. He drew portraits of his classmates with fully grown beards. He drew a portrait of me, and in response I drew this of him. As a teaching this has been the most tangible and inspiring contribution I have displayed in my classroom. It looks just as he did the day it was drawn. It is our responsibility to consider the values we are passing onto our youth. He was holding up a pencil to measure.
