Shared Visions
When you spend a lot of time around cats, you begin to notice them responding to things you can’t see. That leads you to wonder if they see a different filter over reality or another plane.
This painting is my representation of a cat inviting you into their altered experience.
I created this work as a gift to my mom. Her favorite color is turquoise and mine is purple. Cats are and have always been a large part of my family’s life. As a baby, our cats would guard me while they napped under my crib.
During Hurricane Katrina my mom went to Louisiana to rescue and take care of animals. She returned with many cats and found homes for them all. When I think of my mother, among many wonderful things, her loving relationship with cats comes to mind.
The 2nd photo shows the metallic areas of the painting and how they change in the light.
