Awlrach the Drowner

This was a commissioned piece for which the client gave me full creative license, trusting in my work, which is always a great idea. He wanted this project to be somewhere between high quality and efficiency, so I used nearly every tool and skill at my disposal. My decisions on what techniques to use were based on what would best help suggest the texture of that part of the model. We have crunchy woods, smooth fabric, and ethereal ghost flesh. All the ice crystals I made using a resin process — there’s a video tutorial of this on my Instagram (@chasethemaker).

As always, the model was coated with matte varnish, and I then brushed on a gloss varnish or satin varnish based on what the material needed.
