Knight of Shrouds

For this model I had three important textures that I wanted to separate — ethereal ghost parts, fabrics and leathers, and metals. I used three different techniques to help achieve this. I used translucent washes on the ghost parts. It’s very similar to watercoloring. For the fabrics and leathers, I used a layer painting technique, building up subtle shifts in color. For the metals, I base coated, used washes, and then some final layering on top. I love the detail in the blue energy pockets that corrode the metals of the model and how cleanly the hourglass pendant is painted.
