We were finishing the unit on making jars in college, and so I made this grand jar to finish. I wanted it to be a jar — but not. It has all the functionalities of a jar while remaining in the state of being a sculpture. For this design, there is a detail in the upper blue dome where I made the inner overtravel lip of the lid longer so that I could glaze the lid and not have it melt to the shelf.
