Considering the scale of the universe is both humbling and mind blowing. From atoms to galaxies, it is amazing to think of the smallest particle and that we are made of so many of them, then to think how small we are compared to galaxies.

For some, that can cause anxiety over the thought that nothing any of us does really matters. For me, it gives a sense of relief that none of this really matters and to just be happy. And then I think, “What of my legacy?” But even with art, I consider these artists I’ve studied from hundreds of years ago, and we think that’s a long time…but how long till the greats are forgotten?

Anyway, when I look at this simple turtle, I am reminded of all of that.
